Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experts had their hands full between March and April. The reason? No other than Google’s new updates to its algorithm, the most important of which is Google Panda 3.4.  Even though the sweeping changes and regular updates can be troubling to companies that are still using outdated SEO tactics, they're still done for the betterment of the product in the long run.

While it may be difficult to take all the new changes, in the end, SEO experts would be smart to adapt to these updates because Google remains the leader in the field of search engine technology, and wherever it leads, many websites follow and bend themselves accordingly. In particular, the newest Google Panda update is at the forefront of all these changes, so it's only natural for your SEO scheme to concentrate on this particular issue.

The Algorithm Updates on Google Panda 3.4

Google Panda 3.4 is the latest version of their algorithm, and it's been rolled out around March 23. It then followed a multitude of other updates on top of the rolled-out new algorithm. The ones most affected by the latest iteration of the Google algorithm is none other than blog networks that were spamming Google.

Sites specifically dedicated to building ranks (such as BuildMyRank.com) have been affected (perhaps even targeted) by the update. This is the inherent danger faced by companies that depend on SEO sites that take shortcuts and cheat their way into artificially building up page rank instead of following Google's advice in naturally building up their ranks in the Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

How to Properly Build Links and Do SEO Post-Google Panda 3.4

If you want to avoid having your site penalized or altogether removed from Google's indexes, then take note of the link building dos and don'ts you need to follow in order to take advantage of the Google Panda update. You should go about SEO using the natural and Google-approved way.

  • Google Panda 3.4 Punishes Rank-Building Sites: Those who once reaped the benefits of rank-building sites are now currently suffering the equivalent of search engine limbo because Google is now penalizing the spamming nature of their chosen SEO programs. To be more specific, it's about time websites started focusing more on natural link building because it's a safe and perfectly legal Internet Marketing Solution you can use to get noticed on the worldwide web.
  • Add Social Signals: Social signals can make or break the visibility of your website over the Google search engine because the company is presently focusing on using social signals to determine a webpage's SERP rankings. Ergo, it's in your best interest to create a Twitter feed, a Facebook page, and a Google+ account in order to take advantage of this social signal trend. You should also offer content that's informative and updated daily on all the social media sites you're linked to.
  • Social Signals Are More Prioritized Than Link Farms and Blog Spam Networks: Because Google frowns upon those who spam or buy their way into the SERP by buying links from unrelated sites, spam-filled blog networks, and link farms, the search engine giant is now more invested in social sharing from Reddit, Digg, Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, allowing these social networks to influence the Google rankings of a given website.

  1. First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers!

  2. Hi Izola,
Good question. It’s normal what you experience. Sometimes, you don’t have to be so hard on yourself and let your mind relax and brainstorm. Go exercising can help your mind as well..write it down then come back and amend it…
